...is the best thing to come out of MTV's reality show boom.
So the Real World has lost it's sanity (literally) and almost all grasp of unmedicated reality, and we've ventured into buffoonery, showmances and scripted friends whether admittedly or not (Hills vs Paris's BFF). But alas the ONE decent voice of reason from the Hills broke out with her spinoff and did it with a bang. (And yes Whit Port is also reason 38943847297 I say god bless the Xrds lol what up Whit!). Peep the following conversation had between Whitney and Kelly from People's Revolution post "I made a comment to yo girl about needing to eat a thing or two" run in on last night's episode:
Whitney:What I love you for is obviously your outspoken nature and how honest you are. But Allie's feelings were a little bit hurt.
Kelly: You brought your friend and i hurt her feelings. And I would like to say that I'm sorry for that but I'm not. *Gangsta lol*
Whitney: Okay *I know Whitney was like "daaaaamn like that?!" lol?*
Kelly: This is an industry that has accepted such a concept of thin beyond what most consumers even wanted you know [or] accept as normal. We've even accepted the ultimate extreme of thinness as normal and this girl is beyond that.
Whitney: Well she says that if her agency thought that she was unhealthy then they would tell her.
Kelly: Then maybe they will.
Whitney: Well they never have.
Kelly: This to me was an alarming situation.
Whitney: This is a new friend so this is why I'm in a very awkward and uncomfortable position because it's like where do I step in?
Kelly: The whole point about honesty it's not so much for other people it's for yourself. Have you done your part as a human being? *PREACH*
Whitney: We're different people.
Kelly: I couldn't not say anything to her. The truth doesn't always come like a shiny blue bird on someone's shoulder. The truth hurts.
*And YES it does. I have OFTEN been the Kelly but I oscillate between standing firm like she did or going and making the person feel a lil better about life. Ya know "bluebird" style. But before I dive off the deep end into my philos on honesty here's why I fux with The City. This convo was A. one of many natural and on point and honest convos I've seen on the show and with a message about living. Image is a deal for EVERYBODY big, small, male, female, gay, straight, purple, orange, what have you. B. Way to demonstrate that if you're going to showcase your life and who your becoming/are, you're gonna strive to be the best person you can be. She, as in Whitney, was like look I feel strongly about this but at the same time I don't really know this girl like my aces so ahhhh what do I do. A predicament any of us could find ourselves in.
In life there are so many instances where good or bad are not clear. We can just do our best....
At least in all the madness Mtv shows they are showing some real human action and reaction...in the city of it ALL!

- I'm blunt...and rather observant...DUH that means I should blog! I suffer from, no let me rephrase, I combat living with an AVM on a daily basis. An AVM is an Abnormal Veinous Malformation which affects about 250,000 people in the US (http://www.cumc.columbia.edu/dept/cerebro/AVM.htm#Link8). It affects everyone differently, for me it's caused a constant headache since 2003...litterally. I've been in countless doctors offices, been poked and proded, been through the emotions of being misdiagnosed with a brain tumor. Needless to say, I've been through a lot and not just because of my...let's call it an ailment. Above all I've developed a less than common outlook on life and perception of things.Don't for one minute misconstrue, I'm in no way a victim, I'm self-sufficient almost to a fault and encourage others to turn their weaknesses into empowerment. It builds character and makes for one hell of a screenplay ha! That combined with growing up immersed in a semi-charmed world, and the glitz and glamour of Hollyweird leads to some interesting anecdotes...Here are my thoughts...
