Catch this if you can..

On Tuesday I was blessed to catch the Estelle/Gym Class Heroes/Roots concert. Armed with my all access pass, I knew I would be in for a treat but never could I have anticipated the musical journey I was about to partake in for the evening.

Admittedly I arrived late so I missed Estelle's opener but having seen her so much recently I wasn't too bummed. It was all about Travis, Matt, Disashi and Eric also known as Gym Class Heroes. If you have yet to check out their new release The Quilt, you're sleeeeeping. If you have yet to check out their previous 4 albums....please leave my page immediately lol. In an age where geeks are finally cool (YEAH!) and the underdog CAN win, the innovative lyrical stylings of Travis layered on the truly talented musicianship of Matt, Disashi and Eric will definitely keep them in the game. My highlights of their set were Matt and Disashi's drum and guitar solos (respectively) and also when in the midst of chaos backstage, Travis left and returned to fulfill a promise to take a picture with a disabled woman standing next to me (who happened to be the friend of my photog for the evening..shoutout to Tiffany Webb!! Thanks again!!). So cool and gracious for that, aside from being HOT! Watch out Katy Perry...Check the flicks...
Rock the flip out..It's for the stans...lol

Next up: the Roots. I expected NOTHING but the best from these vets but guests Mos Def, Qtip and extreme solos from the entire band...MADNESS AND MAYHEM. I can not even begin to describe to you what a Roots live performance is like if you have never experienced it. From ?uest Love's drum solo's accompanied by a congo percussionist, to the simple fact that they have a tuba player, to the choreography...in fact let me just show you..

and my fave drummer (tied with Travis of course)...get it ?uest...

and just for the hell of it lol

Mmm... Travis lol

Here's some flics...

All in all...AH-MAZING show...met some artists on the horizon as well like Charles Perry so be on the lookout...

Music is undeniably, unequivocally and ultimately the one unifier on the planet. If you have any doubts, take a look at this crowd...Or any concert crowd around the world. It will be the one thing to last forever...

Thanks again to Tiffany Webb!

I'm blunt...and rather observant...DUH that means I should blog! I suffer from, no let me rephrase, I combat living with an AVM on a daily basis. An AVM is an Abnormal Veinous Malformation which affects about 250,000 people in the US (http://www.cumc.columbia.edu/dept/cerebro/AVM.htm#Link8). It affects everyone differently, for me it's caused a constant headache since 2003...litterally. I've been in countless doctors offices, been poked and proded, been through the emotions of being misdiagnosed with a brain tumor. Needless to say, I've been through a lot and not just because of my...let's call it an ailment. Above all I've developed a less than common outlook on life and perception of things.Don't for one minute misconstrue, I'm in no way a victim, I'm self-sufficient almost to a fault and encourage others to turn their weaknesses into empowerment. It builds character and makes for one hell of a screenplay ha! That combined with growing up immersed in a semi-charmed world, and the glitz and glamour of Hollyweird leads to some interesting anecdotes...Here are my thoughts...

There are many other Headcases in the world...here are a few..
