Another one bites the dust....

While reading my daily Internet rags I came across a ancient rumor that Jada and Will are swingers and that NOW this rumor has finally received validation from a Madame that lent her playboys to his fancy. Besides the fact that this rumor has been around since I was a kid dancing to the Fresh Prince theme (Ok maybe it was Sugar Ray Leonard back then but still, in black Hollywood, these are NOT new), it got me to thinking. After all that there is to celebrate, why do we still have a fascination with this stuff?

Will Smith has become the HIGHEST PAID MOVIE STAR IN HOLLYWOOD. ::ahem:: Should I say that again, HIGHEST PAID. He grossed 80 MILLION dollars. He proved he can carry a movie with no damn costars, except maybe the occasional computer generated monster every 30 minutes and a dog, and you ALL would go see it AND buy the DVD. Not only that but he stays on the straight and narrow, promotes his children, his wife, displays a genuine familial love and on top of it keeps it out the public eye which is probably how it stays healthy. I'm sorry that's pretty effin remarkable today. Yet we still have to find a way to tear it down.

I feel there is something to be said for that and quite honestly I don't understand it. He's not getting arrested. Not out in the clubs acting a fool or bedding underage girls. However they choose to live out their marriage it's obviously private so why are we digging? It's not our cross to bear and it is NOT having any bearing on his achievements.

In a time when we are being asked "What would be enough for you?" we should still pay attention to our achievements. No, by no means Oprah, Tiger, Barack and Will are not enough but we still need to celebrate them. Leave their laundry in the hamper, particularly if it is just a choice and not of morality, and let them live.

I'm blunt...and rather observant...DUH that means I should blog! I suffer from, no let me rephrase, I combat living with an AVM on a daily basis. An AVM is an Abnormal Veinous Malformation which affects about 250,000 people in the US (http://www.cumc.columbia.edu/dept/cerebro/AVM.htm#Link8). It affects everyone differently, for me it's caused a constant headache since 2003...litterally. I've been in countless doctors offices, been poked and proded, been through the emotions of being misdiagnosed with a brain tumor. Needless to say, I've been through a lot and not just because of my...let's call it an ailment. Above all I've developed a less than common outlook on life and perception of things.Don't for one minute misconstrue, I'm in no way a victim, I'm self-sufficient almost to a fault and encourage others to turn their weaknesses into empowerment. It builds character and makes for one hell of a screenplay ha! That combined with growing up immersed in a semi-charmed world, and the glitz and glamour of Hollyweird leads to some interesting anecdotes...Here are my thoughts...

There are many other Headcases in the world...here are a few..
