Now a friend of mine and I were rewatching the VMAs and got into a conversation about them. He immediately thought it a "breakup song". I, however, am on the fence.

I think Kanye has proven a true artist with this song. Even more, he has given a way for artists to let out their feelings about a situation without truly telling their personal life as the media would try to interpret. This song could in fact be a breakup song: "You lose, you lose." Pretty direct right? But what if it means, "you lose to this fight of love and give in," and this is a love song? A new way of thinking about rappers and long songs, just as So You Think You Can Dance presented new ways of thinking about hiphop dance and feelings. "I know I said I'm through, but got love for you." That's direct as well.

"If I be with you, baby I'm confused," we've all been there, that irritating sitting between two sides just as I am with this song. I want to be a believer and chose love but breakup is pretty freakin rational and better for me long run. Who knows I might be blocking my blessings. Lol wait we're still on the song.

So where is he? Who knows? He'll probably never tell like Brittany Murphy gone crazy (kudos if you actually remember that movie lol). But the genius is in the creation of creating a truly universally relatable song.
