A testament to our generation...

When our parents had trying times, wars and crappy presidents, they had camaraderie, activism, protests, Woodstock, an entirely different form of human contact and interaction that we are not accustomed to. Not to say that it was lost on us, in our rearing (ok well, maybe), but in our trials and tribulations, and as we grew up with technology, we learned to cope with our gadgets. You're mad/sad, you text your BFF/BF, you blog, you make a silly video on youtube. Even earlier on, if you were a dork like me, you might have retreated to your room to take your frustrations out on the oxen on the Oregon Trail on your very first Apple comp LOL. Either way, we were bred to interfuse our lives with machines, gizmos and whozits.

Now we have moved upward and onward to streaming our lives and it's a gift and a curse. I personally live 3000 miles away from my nearest and dearest, am also in a band and find the marketing endless in such outlets like facebook, myspace, and twitter. But when does it become too much? I've noticed some post EVERY SINGLE MOVE THEY MAKE without fail. Can not move forward unless they "twit", "fb", or check..their...SPACE. Are we a diseased or obsessed generation? Or is it just a sign of the times?

Here's a VERY funny commentary I found (*Shout to "@ErinPepper" of http://erinestelle.blogspot.com/ that found it first)...Check it:

So how do we find balance? I think like with anything, one must remember that we are "IRL"-In real life folks...being a "Twit-lebrity" and whatever else is minutia in the larger scheme of things. Keep your priorities straight, your home team strong and your feet firmly planted on the ground so that you don't get lost in cyber land....

I'm blunt...and rather observant...DUH that means I should blog! I suffer from, no let me rephrase, I combat living with an AVM on a daily basis. An AVM is an Abnormal Veinous Malformation which affects about 250,000 people in the US (http://www.cumc.columbia.edu/dept/cerebro/AVM.htm#Link8). It affects everyone differently, for me it's caused a constant headache since 2003...litterally. I've been in countless doctors offices, been poked and proded, been through the emotions of being misdiagnosed with a brain tumor. Needless to say, I've been through a lot and not just because of my...let's call it an ailment. Above all I've developed a less than common outlook on life and perception of things.Don't for one minute misconstrue, I'm in no way a victim, I'm self-sufficient almost to a fault and encourage others to turn their weaknesses into empowerment. It builds character and makes for one hell of a screenplay ha! That combined with growing up immersed in a semi-charmed world, and the glitz and glamour of Hollyweird leads to some interesting anecdotes...Here are my thoughts...

There are many other Headcases in the world...here are a few..
